I discovered the charge when I got home. I've disputed it with my bank, emailed Europcar's customer service four times, and received nothing but automated replies. This company operates like a predatory rental scheme dressed up as a legitimate business. They prey on tired travelers and invent damage charges to squeeze more money out of you. Do not rent from them unless you enjoy being robbed.
It really seems to depend on which branch you're dealing with.The good: When it works, it works well. I rented from Munich Airport recently, and the staff were friendly, the check-in was quick, and the car was in excellent condition almost new with low mileage . The return was hassle-free too. Another time in Amsterdam, everything went smoothly and I had no complaints . Their electric vehicle fleet is growing too, and apparently customer satisfaction with EVs has improved quite a bit recently .
